Attended toilets

The city has seven attended toilets, where staff are present during opening hours and the facilities are cleaned after every single visit.

Several of them are worth a visit in their own right – even if you don’t need to use the facilities – as they retain a special atmosphere thanks to their carefully maintained historic interiors.

The toilet with disability access at Nørreport, Nørre Voldgade 15A, is equipped with a patient lift.

At Vester Søgade 2A, there is also Changing Places toilet reserved for citizens with severe mobility impairments, who may be accompanied by a carer. This facility includes additional equipment such as:

  • a patient lift
  • a height-adjustable shower bench and washbasin
  • an automatic toilet lift

This toilet is locked, and access can be granted by applying through the Danish Disability Organisations.

Close to the Changing Places toilet, there is a designated accessible parking space suitable for larger vehicles with lifts.

The accessible toilet at Vester Søgade is registered  under the “God Adgang” (Acces Denmark) labelling scheme.
