Copenhagen Light Festival

Copenhagen Light Festival is a festival of light that transforms the winter darkness into a special celebration of light art, lighting design, and luminous experiences in the heart of Copenhagen.

During three weeks in February, the festival presents a wide array of light-based works, including sculpture, installation, projection, events, and lighting created by both established and emerging light designers, light artists, students, and organizations.

With a tailored light program curated by a selection committee, the city's various spaces, squares, buildings, bridges, and hidden places are staged, highlighted, and interpreted in a new and exciting way.

The majority of the works are gathered along a route in the inner city, while some pieces are located in areas outside the center. The festival also features a series of events taking place either in public spaces or indoors.

Inviting international and local audiences of all ages, the festival encourages exploration of the city during the darkest and possibly coldest month of the year.
