Amager Christmas Parade

Watch the longest Christmas parade in Denmark in Amager

Denmark’s longest Christmas parade, organised by Amager Butikkerne, will take place this year on Saturday, 29 November.

The parade sets off from Gyldenrisvej at 4:03 p.m., making its way along Amagerbrogade towards Christmas Møllers Plads. Stretching for more than a kilometre, the procession features Father Christmases, sleighs, fire engines and colourful Disney characters – in short, everything that makes Christmas special.

Thousands of spectators gather along the route to enjoy the festive atmosphere as lights, music and smiles fill the street. For many, it has become a beloved tradition to line the pavement and welcome the Christmas season together.

As the parade winds its way through the city, the Christmas lights in the local shopping streets are switched on, one by one, creating a warm and atmospheric start to the festive month.

Throughout December, visitors can enjoy the cosy glow and special atmosphere while out shopping or taking an evening stroll.

On Amager, Christmas truly begins when the parade sets off – and the lights come on.
